Find Your Voice with The Caulfield Voice!


JoELLYN CAULFIELD, soprano, holds a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University.

Ms. Caulfield has maintained a successful private teaching studio since 2000. She has taught students of all ages and levels, and has assisted numerous students with auditioning for roles as well as gaining entrance into summer programs and universities. Her students have gained acceptance to Northern Illinois, Belmont University, Hope College, Illinois State, Boston College, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, DePauw, Lawrence, Alma, Western Illinois, and many others. They have attended prestigious summer programs at Interlochen, Tanglewood, Northwestern University’s NHSMI, and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and many more. Currently, she teaches at Elgin Community College, Joliet Junior College, Naperville Central High School, Oswego East High School, and her studio in South Naperville. She previously taught at Brookdale Music in Naperville, NIU Community School in Dekalb, IL, Michigan State University Community School for the Arts in East Lansing, MI, and served as a Teacher's Assistant at MSU, teaching Class Voice for Non-Music Majors as well as private voice lessons. 

In addition to private teaching and lecturing in local venues, JoEllyn has been featured soloist on numerous concerts: some appearances include Mozart’s Credo Mass, Missa Brevis in C, Requiem, and Regina Coeli, Handel’s Messiah, Buxtehude’s Magnificat, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Haydn’s Creation, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, as well soloist for U.S. and/or World Premieres of Ivo Antognini’s There is That In Me, Richard Dubugnon’s Psalm 10, Cecilia McDowall’s Standing as I Do Before God, and Daniel Knaggs’s Hear My Voice.  After performing his song cycle, A Winter Come, for famed composer, Morten Lauridsen, he said, “Ms. Caulfield’s rendition was among the finest ever. She exhibited a gorgeous voice and superb musicality throughout her performance. Her vocal artistry is remarkable.” She is a member of Cor Cantiamo, a professional touring choir based out of DeKalb, Illinois and a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Choral Scholars in Naperville.  She has performed as both soloist and chorister in Italy, England, Poland, and Germany.  JoEllyn actively sings for community events, including events supporting our military, weddings, funerals, and other church services.  She is a sought-after adjudicator and clinician for middle school, high school, and college events.

JoEllyn is an active member of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the CCNATS. Chapter. She is the Secretary for Cor Cantiamo Board of Directors. In 2011, she held the position of Treasurer with Chicago Singing Teacher’s Guild (CSTG).
